Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito came out in the year 2017. After that, some of the most popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna collaborated with Maluma to create Medellin. A few performers of reggaeton expressed their displeasure at the rise of mainstream music in 2020. However, a brand new band, Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the evolution and development of reggaeton. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms as well as other styles into his music.
